Who is in the picture above? These are some of the most famous Freemasons of all time: President and Brother George Washington, Brother Benjamin Franklin, Brother Jose Navarro, Brother William B. Travis, Brother Sam Houston, Brother Lorenzo de Zavala, Brother Stephen F. Austin, President and Brother Theodore Roosevelt, Brother Charles Lindbergh, President and Brother Franklin D. Roosevelt, Brother Will Rogers, President and Brother Harry S. Truman, U.S. General and Brother Douglas S. MacArthur, Brother and Rev. Norman Vincent Peale, Brother John "Duke" Wayne and U.S. Lunar Astronaut and Brother Edwin E. "Buzz" Aldrin. This is but a small list of famous Masons. There are many, many others. Become part of this elite group. In order to become a Mason, a man first must already have a faith and express his belief in God, and believe in the existence of an immortal soul. Masonry does not make a man good, but is designed to make a good man better. No atheist can be made a Mason. If you are of good character, have a firm belief in the Supreme Being and the immortality of the soul, all you have to do to be one is ask one.

LEBANON LODGE No. 837, AF&AM, was chartered on December 7, 1899, by the Grand Lodge of Texas.   This lodge is a fraternal organization that admits, makes, and passes Freemasons according to the Constitution and Laws, and Edicts of The Grand Lodge of Texas, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.  Its goals are to advance the moral and social interests of its membership; to foster good citizenship, honest industry and upright living; to cultivate the exercise of charity in its best and broadest sense; to assist the widows and orphans of its deceased members; to stimulate friendship, harmony and brotherly love, and generally to promote, in its own way, the happiness of mankind --- it is a Fraternity of good men, linked together by honorable and indissoluble bonds, to accomplish these noble purposes, eschewing all interests in factional politics and sectarian religion and free from the dictation of both.

The Grand Lodge of Texas, AF&AM, through contributions supplied by Lebanon Lodge and other Masonic lodges throughout the State of Texas, contributes to the relief of distressed and needy brothers of the fraternity.  The Grand Lodge of Texas supports and makes contributions to the Masonic Home and School of Texas in Fort Worth, a non-profit institution which ensures that orphaned or needy children are provided with a home and an education. Also, The Grand Lodge of Texas contributes to the support of the Texas Masonic Retirement Center in Arlington, a non-profit organization, seeing to the well being of elderly Masons, wives and widows.
